I have an HNC in Social Care and over 20 years experience in Mental Health and Crisis Intervention.

I have completed the ASSIT training, moving and handling and crisis intervention. I have also completed Diversity in Mental Health through the Open University and Transitions in Dementia Care through the University of Stirling. I have a full PVG and have Public and Liability insurance. I am honest, reliable, caring and very supportive.

I have supported people who have had complex social and emotional mental health problems both in a ward setting and out in the community.

I also befriended a person once a week and during that time we did various activities from going out shopping, having lunch, visiting the cinema and going round the garden centres. Through time this enhanced my befriendee’s confidence and self-esteem.

Whilst working for the last 7 yrs I also cared for several family members who suffered from dementia, cancer, and several social and emotional mental health problems.

I myself needed support and assistance from social work, outside agencies and carers. I came up against more and more obstacles along the way. I found that I had to struggle with red tape and bureaucracy to eventually receive the support required.

This is why I decided to use my knowledge and years of experience to support people, families and carers in the community. I fully understand the many complex difficulties that face most families/people on a day to day basis when caring for loved ones. I know I can provide extra support for you.
